Welcome to the website The Tolsum Secret
The Tolsum Secret is about a Roman stilus tablet from the collection of the Fries Museum. This tablet was discovered in 1914 during commercial digging of an artificial dwelling mound nearby Tolsum (just outside Franeker). The tablet is the oldest, written document of the Netherlands (23 Febrary 29 AD).

Section TABLET is not available in English.
